Fun Facts
.
Asase Ye often referred to as Asase Yaa by most Akan people but she can be called Asase Ya, or Mother Earth (hence why the planet Earth is Her symbol)
She also goes by Aberewa, as She is not just an Ashanti goddess but an Akan goddess; Her name varies depending on the ethnic clan and their day of worship
Her themes are truth, morality, fertility, divinity, soil, harvest and death. She's also associated with the planet Jupiter, the number 8, and the goat
She is the wife of Nyame the God of the sky, who created the universe. She mothers three children: Bea, Tano, and Anansi, the trickster god
The mythology of the Ghanaian Ashantis is shared/practiced among other tribes of the Akan people
Despite how cherished of a goddess She is, She isn't worshipped in or has an exclusive shrine. This because priests and shrines are disrespectful towards due to the fact that She isn't an Abosom that communicates through mediums and divination
Although She has no temples specifically dedicated towards Her, She is worshipped in the Ashanti people's agricultural fields as those [farmers/field workers] are most favored by Her; most Akan people worship Her on Thursday, however the Fante people for example worship Her on Friday
Caribbean countries like Jamaica and Trinidad practice modified yet similar religious practices because they are descendants of the Akan people; Trinidad for example calls their variation of Ashanti religion Shango
